The Packers have four top 60 picks this year and a pretty big need at wide receiver.
The team has a famous tradition of not taking receivers in the 1st round, but this year could be different.
At the same time, the NFL has see a dramatic rise in the number of receivers drafted early. While wide receiver is a luxury position, and historically the most successful teams haven’t drafted wide receivers in the 1st round, there is a notable increase in the number of receivers taken.
So, in a year where the Packers seem more likely than ever to buck their trend, what receivers could be available early?
Let’s compare the historic trends (that show a big rise in receivers selected early over the last 2 years) to the current draft class (using a conglomerate list of receivers for ranking).
