The Packers host the Seahawks this week
Here are 3 questions that could determine the outcome of the game:
- How will the quarterbacks look? With both Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson expected to return to the field after health-related absences (Rodgers for Covid and Wilson for a longer absence due to a broken finger in his throwing hand), how quickly they return to form could determine the game. Rodgers’s biggest issue will be conditioning, while Wilson will have to try to keep a grip on the ball in cold weather.
- What will the Packers offense line look like? After their worst outing of the season last week, change could be coming. David Bakhtiari is eligible to return. If he does come back, there will be some shuffling and if he doesn’t, it’s still possible the Packers make a switch given how poorly Royce Newman has been performing.
- Can the Packers cover DK Metcalf? Despite the issues at quarterback, Seattle wide receiver DK Metcalf, an absolutely beautiful freak of genetics, has been putting up big numbers. He has nearly 300 yards and 5 touchdowns in the last 4 games – and that was mostly with Geno Smith at quarterback. Eric Stokes is nursing an injury and Jaire Alexander is still out. I’m not sure an ailing Stokes or a healthy Kevin King hope to contain Metcalf one-one-one. The Packers may have to get creative.
We’ll surely get answers to these questions and more on game day.
