The Packers cruised to a 36-28 win against the Rams and we got the answers to our 3 Questions from before the game:
- Can the defense get a takeaway? Yes, they actually got three and Rasul Douglas took one of them back for a touchdown! The Packers came up big on this department and continued their streak of winning every game they’ve created a turnover in (and losing every game they haven’t). After missing 6 interceptions last week, the Packers dropped a couple more pick 6 opportunities this week. If the defense can ever hold on to all their interceptions, they can really run away with some games.
- Can the leftovers block? Good enough. Aaron Rodgers, on a bad toe, was only sacked once against a Rams defense that averaged nearly 3 sacks per game coming in. Keeping Rodgers upright was the key factor in this game. On the ground, the Packers average per carry wasn’t stellar, but they were called on for a lot of short yardage situations and gave AJ Dillon enough of a crease to power forward. The JV offensive line was good enough to win against a very talented defense, but they need to step it up for a serious Super Bowl run and David Bakhtiari can help with that.
- Can special teams go one week without a disaster? Nnnnnope.
